A Time I Persevered And Was Successful
This year, my CCA, Show Choir, decided to participate in the Singapore Youth Festival competition. The CCA only had three months to prepare our performance. For the secondary one students, including me, it was a daunting task as most of us had not participated in the SYF competition before. Thus, we decided to put our heart and soul into practicing so that our performance will be our best effort. Instead of two times a week, our practices increased to three times a week. We all practiced diligently. The secondary ones decided to practice during recess, for at least ten minutes each day. On the day itself, we all strived to perform the best we could. In the end, we achieved a Certificate of Accomplishment. Although it was not the Distinction we were all hoping for, I am still proud of our result.

Homework on Suspense - Sandra
The suspenseful movie I have watched is The Hunger Games: Mockingly Part 1. Although I have read the book before I watched the movie, I was constantly on the edge of my seat during the movie. There were many obstacles and we were all anticipating how Katniss (the main character) will solve the problem. I think the most suspenseful part was when a team of people went to save Peeta, who was in the Capitol (the antagonist city). The team of people included her best friend, Gale, which meant that Katniss could lose both Gale and Peeta together. It was very suspenseful when we saw how Katniss was trying to stop the antagonist from finding out that the team was there, and how they reacted when they thought that the team was caught, only to find out that they made it back safely.

- Poem With A Rhyme
Missing
Missing
by Anne Scott
I’ve hunted near, I’ve hunted far
I’ve hunted near, I’ve hunted far
I even looked inside my car.
I’ve lost my glasses, I’m in need,
To have them now so I can read.
I loudly swear and I curse
Did I leave them in my purse?
Are they behind the sofa, under the bed?
Oh there they are - on my head!

Alliteration Poem

One waterfall whirled water around
Two tigers trenched through the town
Three thunderstorms thinned thatched houses
Three thunderstorms thinned thatched houses
Four fireworks fires fast
Five fish flew for safety
Six shepherds shelter sheep
Seven shooting stars shoot into the sky
Eight elephants echo to the eclipse
Nine nagging nannies nag their way to New York
Ten tortoises tap dancing to town
Nine nagging nannies nag their way to New York
Ten tortoises tap dancing to town

Running Water

Running Water
by Lee Emmett
water plops into the pond
splish-splash downhill
warbling magpies in tree
trilling, melodic thrill
woosh, passing breez
flags flutter and flap
frog croaks, bird whistles
babbling bubbles from tap

Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Cake

“Friends are like chocolate cake
You can never have too many.
Chocolate cake is like heaven -
Always amazing you with each taste or feeling.
Chocolate cake is like life with so many different pieces.
Chocolate cake is like happiness, you can never get enough of it.”
- Poem With Hyperbole
Hyperbole of My Dog
By Autumn Jones
Little Girls is my dog.
Little Girls is my dog.
She sleeps like a log.
She has a huge mouth,
And eats like a hog
In her excitement
Her tail is a whip times ten.
When she sees food
Hers eyes start to spin.

Some people say that I am one thing
Some people say that I am one thing
Others say that I am many.
Ever since the world begun
I have been moving in an endless circle.
I am the rain.
- Poem With Symbolism
Nameless
By B.R.K
I see you and I as a couple on a long road trip.
There will be many stops, bumps and paths
but it will be an adventure.
It will be a journey.
There is no destination and no map.
Just you and I Cruising and enjoying every
moment of the ride.

True Me Poem
My real name is Sandra Leong.
A name I wish to be called is Sandra because I like my name.
The animal that's inside of me is a cat because I would like to always land on my feet after every fall.
The object that's inside my heart is my friends and family because they are always there for me.
The word on my forehead is books because I love to read books.
The sound that I love is pop music because that's my favourite genre of music.
The smell that I love is the smell of nature because I love nature.
My favourite time of day is sunset because the sky is always beautiful then.
My father always says to me, "Work hard, play hard.”
